100% Merino Fishermans Rib Hat
100% Merino Fishermans Rib Hat
Fisherman’s rib is a knitting stitch originating in fishing communities, where it was developed to provide a very thick and warm knit for the jumpers the fishermen wore both at sea and on land. This hat has a twice-turned-back border knitted in fisherman’s rib, so if you suffer with cold ears this is the hat for you. Knitted to fit the head rather than to grip it, it will hold pockets of warm air and keep you snug on the bitterest of days. No more ear-ache! The crown of the hat is finished with contrasting paracord, tipped with metal aglets.
Knitted and hand-finished in England from Spanish mulesing-free pure Merino wool.
Coordinate with our drawstring snood to complete the look.
Our top tip from the catwalk: wear it with contrasting bright colours or use it to accent neutral and natural tones with a bright pop.
Yarn blend:
100% Mulesing-free Spanish Merino wool
Manufacturing details:
This garment was knitted and hand-finished in England using top-quality,
traceable Spanish Merino wool which was spun into yarn in a family-owned
mill in Yorkshire. This fishermans rib hat, if washed carefully, will look and
feel like new for a long time!
Care Instructions:
Wash by hand or machine wash at 30C on a cycle that is suitable for delicate
woollens, using a fabric soap recommended for wool. Short spin and reshape
whilst damp. Dry flat, or if this isn't possible hang over a thick towel on an
airer. A few shots of steam once dry will remove any wrinkles. Do not touch
the garment with the iron when steaming!
